Brian Stoltz, a virtuoso guitarist and songwriter from New Orleans, has released four solo albums, and is best known for playing throughout the 80′s with the world-renowned Neville Brothers Band and for fourteen years with The Funky Meters. Brian has performed and recorded with artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Edie Brickell, Linda Ronstadt, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Jerry Garcia, Page McConnell and many more.
Yisroel Arye met Brian in 2012 during the making of the Brooklyn Jazz Warrior’s debut album “In Service of the King,” which they co-produced. In this very first SHR podcast, Brian shares his backstory, his time with the Nevilles, Dylan, Paul Simon, Allen Toussaint and others, balancing life and music, and blows Yisroel’s mind describing Art Neville’s elusive Secret Groove.
